Asociación Atlántica Española

The Asociación Atlántica Española (AAE) is a private, civil organization in Spain dedicated to promoting Euro-Atlantic relations. The AAE is currently newsworthy due to the recent election of Ana Botella Gómez as its president. Botella Gómez, the former Secretary of State for Security, is the first woman to hold this position in the organization's history. She previously served as vice president since 2022. Her appointment comes at a time considered 'very delicate' due to international conflicts, highlighting the AAE's continued relevance in facilitating discussions and advocating for stronger European cooperation within the NATO framework.
