Bomberos de la Diputación de Salamanca (Salamanca Provincial Council Firefighters) are a fire and rescue service responsible for responding to emergencies within the province of Salamanca, Spain. They are currently newsworthy due to their involvement in managing a significant natural gas leak at the El Navazo slaughterhouse in Fuentes de Béjar. The leak, originating from one of the facility's gas tanks, prompted the activation of the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (CECOPI) and the Civil Protection Plan for Emergencies due to Accidents in the Transport of Dangerous Goods (PLANCAL). The firefighters are working to secure the area, which includes establishing a 1-kilometer safety perimeter and overseeing the evacuation of approximately 300 workers. The Es-Alert system has been used to notify the public about the situation.
