Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department

The Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) is a key law enforcement agency in Malaysia responsible for combating drug trafficking and related criminal activities. They have recently been in the news for significant operational successes. In one instance, the NCID, in collaboration with Thai authorities, dismantled a cross-border drug syndicate. This operation led to the seizure of 86.2kg of methamphetamine, valued at approximately US$1 million, disguised as tea. The bust was a result of intelligence sharing following a separate seizure in Thailand. Furthermore, the NCID has also made arrests in connection with drug supplies, including six individuals linked to a pilot apprehended with Ecstasy pills in Jakarta. These recent developments highlight the NCID's ongoing efforts and effectiveness in disrupting drug networks operating both domestically and internationally, underscoring their critical role in national security and public safety.
