City Harvest

City Harvest is a prominent food rescue organization dedicated to fighting hunger in New York City. Founded in 1982, it operates by collecting surplus food from various sources, including restaurants, grocers, and farms, and distributing it to a network of community food programs. This ensures that nutritious food reaches those in need across all five boroughs. The organization has recently gained significant public attention due to a substantial donation of $26 million from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. This generous contribution, part of a larger $26 million gift to 20 charities, highlights City Harvest's ongoing efforts and its importance in addressing food insecurity. The donation underscores the organization's critical role in providing essential resources to vulnerable populations in New York City, especially in the current climate where charitable support is vital.
