Convoy Nuestra América

Convoy Nuestra América is a solidarity initiative that collects and delivers humanitarian aid to Cuba. The organization aims to alleviate shortages of essential goods on the island, which they attribute to the U.S. embargo. They are newsworthy due to their recent efforts to transport aid via sea, directly challenging the perceived impact of the embargo. Recently, two of their sailboats carrying aid were reported missing but were later found safe by the Mexican Navy. Despite this setback, the main vessel of the convoy successfully reached Havana, delivering 14 tons of food and medicine, 73 solar panels, and bicycles. Their actions highlight the ongoing debate surrounding the U.S. embargo and the efforts of international groups to provide assistance to the Cuban people.
