The Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), or German Aerospace Center, is a major German research institution focused on aerospace, energy, transportation, and security. DLR is currently newsworthy due to its involvement in NASA's Artemis 2 mission, which aims to send humans back to the Moon after more than half a century. DLR is providing specialized measuring devices to assess the risk of radiation-induced cancer for astronauts during the lunar mission.
