EMT Madrid

EMT Madrid (Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid) is the municipal transport company of Madrid, Spain. It is responsible for operating the city's bus network and the BiciMad bike-sharing system. EMT Madrid is currently newsworthy due to two recent developments. First, to encourage public transport use after the Easter holiday, EMT Madrid offered free rides on its buses (excluding the Airport Express line) and the BiciMad service on April 7th and 8th. Second, EMT Madrid has awarded a contract worth over 95 million euros to Solaris, Irizar, and Mercedes-Benz for the supply of 120 new electric buses.
