Enedis is the primary electricity distribution network operator in France, responsible for managing and maintaining the power grid that delivers electricity to homes and businesses across the country. It's currently newsworthy due to two distinct events. First, several of its electrical installations in the Cher region were targeted by coordinated arson attacks, impacting power supply to companies, including those involved in the arms industry. These incidents are under investigation. Second, Storm Goretti caused widespread power outages, leaving approximately 380,000 households without electricity, primarily in northern France. Enedis is actively working to restore power to affected areas. These events highlight Enedis's crucial role in ensuring a stable and reliable electricity supply and its vulnerability to both deliberate attacks and natural disasters.
