European Research Council

The European Research Council (ERC) is a funding organization within the European Union that supports investigator-driven frontier research across all fields. Headed by President Maria Leptin, the ERC aims to promote scientific excellence in Europe by awarding grants to individual researchers and their teams. Recently, the ERC has been in the news due to concerns about a perceived decline in the success rate of Israeli researchers applying for EU funding.
