France Munitions

France Munitions is a newly created platform designed to act as a central "wholesaler" for munitions, serving the needs of the French armed forces, allied nations, and export clients. The platform is being established in response to evolving conflict dynamics, particularly in Ukraine and the Middle East, which have highlighted the need to accelerate munitions production and reduce reliance on foreign suppliers. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu recently announced an additional €8.5 billion in munitions orders by 2030 as part of an update to the military programming law (LPM). This investment will support France Munitions and aims to bolster both public and private sector involvement in the munitions industry. Alice Rufo, déléguée auprès de la ministre des Armées, emphasizes the importance of developing dual-use (civil and military) industries to support this effort. The creation of France Munitions and the associated investment signal a significant push to strengthen France's defense capabilities and its role as a supplier of munitions.
