GIGN

The GIGN (Groupe d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale) is a special operations unit of the French National Gendarmerie. First, they successfully rescued a mother and her son who had been kidnapped in connection with a cryptocurrency-related case, leading to the arrest of four individuals. Second, the GIGN was involved in a situation in Montmorillon where a man, suspected of killing two women, barricaded himself in his home. The GIGN launched an assault, but the suspect ultimately took his own life. These events highlight the GIGN's continued role in responding to serious crimes and maintaining public safety in France.
