Hospital de Torrevieja

Hospital de Torrevieja is a hospital located in Torrevieja, Alicante, Spain. It has recently been in the news due to two separate incidents. First, a 62-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing from elderly patients in the hospital rooms. The arrest was made possible through the collaboration of the hospital's private security service and the Guardia Civil, following two reported theft incidents. Separately, though completely unrelated to the hospital itself, the town of Torrevieja is also in the news due to the alleged murder of a three-year-old girl by her father in a case being investigated as gender-based violence. While the homicide did not occur at the hospital, the proximity of the event has placed Torrevieja in the news, indirectly associating the hospital with the negative publicity surrounding the town.
