Impulso Ciudadano

Impulso Ciudadano is a civic organization that advocates for the presence of Spanish symbols in Catalonia. They are currently newsworthy due to their successful legal challenge against the Parliament of Catalonia. Impulso Ciudadano filed a lawsuit arguing that the Parliament was not fulfilling its legal obligation to display the Spanish flag permanently on its building. The Parliament only raised the flag on days when the plenary session was in progress. The High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) ruled in favor of Impulso Ciudadano, ordering the Parliament to immediately and permanently display the Spanish flag. The Catalan Parliament has appealed this ruling, but Impulso Ciudadano's actions have brought the issue of national symbols and regional autonomy back into the spotlight, highlighting ongoing tensions between the Catalan and Spanish governments.
