The term "Industriels," referring to industry actors or industrialists, is currently newsworthy due to concerns surrounding their lobbying activities and pursuit of deregulation in France. Recent articles highlight criticisms of excessive pressure from pharmaceutical industry actors (Industriels) on the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS), the independent body evaluating drugs for reimbursement, to favor their products. This lobbying is perceived as an attempt to influence decisions regarding which medications are covered by public funds. Simultaneously, "Industriels" are implicated in efforts to deregulate PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), with critics arguing that proposed deregulation serves primarily the interests of these industrial actors.
