The Junta de Andalucía is the governing body of the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. Recent news highlights several key issues involving the Junta. Óscar Puente, Minister of Transport, is demanding explanations regarding the coordination of emergency services after the Adamuz train accident. The CIS Andaluz poll suggests the ruling PP party, led by Juanma Moreno, is likely to win the next election but may fall short of an absolute majority. The Junta is also facing criticism for allegedly diverting funds collected through the water canon, meant for wastewater treatment, to other projects, despite warnings and fines from the EU.
