Justice First

Justice First is a Venezuelan opposition party. It is newsworthy due to the recent detention and subsequent release (followed by house arrest) of one of its leaders, Juan Pablo Guanipa. Guanipa, a long-time ally of opposition leader Maria Corina Machado and former vice-president of the National Assembly, was initially freed after being imprisoned for approximately eight months. His release coincided with the passage of an amnesty bill approved by the National Assembly. However, shortly after his release, Guanipa was reportedly kidnapped by security forces and placed under house arrest. This situation highlights the ongoing political tensions and the treatment of opposition figures in Venezuela, underscoring the party's relevance in the current political landscape.
