Licra, the Ligue contre le racisme et l'antisémitisme (League Against Racism and Antisemitism), is a French organization dedicated to combating racism and antisemitism. It is currently newsworthy due to the release of a recent survey conducted by Ifop on its behalf. The survey reveals that a significant portion of the French population, nearly one in two, reports having experienced racist aggressions or discrimination. The study highlights that while racism affects various groups, individuals perceived as Black, Arab, and East Asian, as well as those of Jewish and Muslim faith, are primary targets. The findings underscore the persistent and widespread nature of racism in France, making Licra's work in raising awareness and advocating for equality increasingly relevant.
