The Münchner Polizei (Munich Police) is the law enforcement agency responsible for maintaining order and investigating crimes within the city of Munich, Germany. They are currently newsworthy due to their involvement in two distinct situations. First, they responded to a solidarity rally held in Munich following an attack on a local restaurant. The police estimated the crowd size at around 300 people. Second, the Münchner Polizei is actively investigating a series of over 50 arson attacks in the Munich area over the past nine years, causing over 25 million euros in damages. These attacks, often targeting critical infrastructure, are suspected to be acts of left-wing extremism.
