Move Forward Party

The Move Forward Party (formerly Future Forward Party) is a reformist political party in Thailand. They are newsworthy due to the upcoming 2026 general election where they are one of the three main parties vying for power. Recent polls suggest they are leading, but Thailand has a history of the establishment overturning electoral mandates. Adding to their challenges, 44 former lawmakers from the now-dissolved Move Forward Party face a lifetime ban from politics. This stems from a ruling by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) which found them in breach of ethical standards related to a failed attempt to amend the royal insult law. Despite these obstacles, the party remains a significant force in Thai politics, representing a progressive alternative to military-backed conservatives and populist factions.
