National Investigation Agency

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is India's federal counter-terrorism investigation agency. It was established by the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008, to deal with terror-related crimes across the country. Additionally, the NIA is prosecuting British national Jagtar Singh Johal, a case that has drawn international attention, with lawyers urging the UK government to intervene, citing potential breaches of the double jeopardy rule.
