The National Search and Rescue Agency of Indonesia is the primary organization responsible for coordinating and conducting search and rescue operations throughout the country. They are currently newsworthy due to their ongoing efforts in response to a major landslide that occurred in Pasir Langu village, West Java, on Saturday. The landslide, triggered by heavy rainfall, buried approximately 34 houses and resulted in a significant number of casualties and missing persons. As of Sunday, dozens remain missing. The agency is actively involved in the recovery of bodies and the search for survivors amidst challenging conditions of mud and debris. Their efforts are crucial in providing aid and closure to the affected communities and families.
