The National Socialist Network (NSN) is a neo-Nazi organization that has been singled out by Australia's home affairs minister as a potential target for new hate speech laws. The Australian chapter of the Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir has also been mentioned in relation to the NSN, with some reports suggesting a connection between the two groups. Recently, Ryan Turner, a British man living in Western Australia, was deported due to alleged neo-Nazi links to the NSN. The Labor government's new hate speech legislation is set to be introduced to parliament on Monday, and the ASIO chief will have powers to recommend organizations be proscribed as hate groups.
