Nepal's disaster agency

Nepal's disaster agency is a key governmental body responsible for coordinating disaster response and providing casualty figures. It is currently newsworthy due to its role in reporting on a catastrophic flash flood that occurred along the Nepal-Tibet border. According to the agency, the disaster has resulted in at least 1,114 deaths in Nepal and left nearly 4,000 people missing. This information is crucial for understanding the scale of the tragedy and guiding ongoing relief and recovery efforts. The agency's updates are vital for both national and international awareness and aid mobilization as rescue operations continue and the focus shifts towards recovery in affected areas, including the significant damage to infrastructure like the Pasang Lhamu highway.
