Ojai Raptor Center

The Ojai Raptor Center is a wildlife rehabilitation organization dedicated to the care and recovery of injured birds of prey. Recently, the center gained significant attention due to its efforts to treat Jackie, a beloved bald eagle and livestream star from Big Bear Lake. Jackie, who was followed by millions as she raised chicks, was brought to the Ojai Raptor Center in mid-July after being found weak and unable to fly following an altercation with other eagles. Despite receiving weeks of intensive veterinary treatment, Jackie's condition deteriorated due to underlying health issues, including anemia and weight loss, and she ultimately passed away. The center's involvement highlights its crucial role in providing specialized care for endangered and injured raptors, bringing public awareness to the challenges these magnificent birds face and the vital conservation work undertaken by organizations like the Ojai Raptor Center.
