Oxford Brookes University is a UK higher education institution. Recently, it has been in the news for two distinct reasons. Firstly, Oxford Brookes is one of 15 universities in England where students on weekend courses were incorrectly deemed eligible for government maintenance loans and grants. As a result, these students are now being asked to repay the funds they received from Student Finance England. Secondly, Oxford Brookes Racing (OBR), the university's Formula Student team, is preparing for the Formula Student competition at Silverstone. OBR is a highly regarded team with a strong track record of design awards and top finishes in international races. The team, comprised of over 100 students, is currently focused on designing and building a competitive race car for the upcoming event, highlighting the university's commitment to practical, hands-on engineering education.
