Pawtucket Police

The Pawtucket Police Department is currently investigating a mass shooting that occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Dennis M. Lynch arena during a youth hockey game. The incident has resulted in at least three fatalities, including the suspect, Robert Dorgan, who also went by Roberta Esposito. Two victims were Dorgan's ex-wife and son. A third victim, a grandfather, later died from his wounds. Three other individuals are hospitalized in critical condition. Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves has stated that the shooting appears to be a targeted event, possibly stemming from a family dispute. Police are crediting a good Samaritan for helping to end the shooting. The department is currently working to piece together the events and gather more information about the motive and circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
