The Pawtucket Police Department is currently investigating a mass shooting that occurred at the Dennis M. Lynch arena during a youth hockey game on Monday, February 16, 2026. The incident has garnered significant media attention due to the tragic loss of life and the circumstances surrounding the event. According to Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves, three individuals are confirmed dead, including the suspect, Robert Dorgan (also known as Roberta Esposito). Two victims have been identified as Dorgan's ex-wife and son. Three other victims were hospitalized in critical condition, one of whom has since died, bringing the total death toll to three victims plus the suspect. Police are investigating the motive, which they believe to be a targeted family dispute. The police are also crediting a good Samaritan for helping to end the deadly shooting.
