Rechtsextremisten

The term "Rechtsextremisten" (right-wing extremists) refers to individuals and groups in Germany holding extreme right-wing ideologies. These ideologies often include racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, and the rejection of democratic principles. They are newsworthy due to ongoing concerns about their activities and the threat they pose to public safety and democratic values. Recent news highlights two key issues: First, a SPIEGEL TV team was attacked in Fretterode, Thuringia, while researching right-wing extremist movements, prompting a police investigation. Second, over 500 right-wing extremists are currently wanted in Germany on outstanding arrest warrants, totaling 688 warrants against 515 individuals as of late September 2025. This indicates a significant number of individuals within this group are involved in criminal activities.
