Satena is Colombia's state-owned airline. It is currently newsworthy due to a recent fatal plane crash. On Wednesday, a Satena Beechcraft 1900 twin-engine turboprop plane, operating Flight HK-4709 from Cúcuta to Ocaña, crashed after disappearing from air traffic control 12 minutes into the flight. All 15 people on board, including a Colombian lawmaker, Diogenes Quintero, were killed. The plane vanished near the Colombian-Venezuelan border, and the wreckage was located in a mountainous area. Search and rescue efforts were initially hindered by dense terrain and adverse weather conditions.
