Shenzhen Natural History Museum

The Shenzhen Natural History Museum, a significant new cultural landmark in southern China, officially opened its doors to the public on July 28, 2023. As the first large-scale institution of its kind in the region, it represents a substantial investment by the Shenzhen government, with a total of 3.5 billion yuan dedicated to its development, excluding artifact acquisition costs. Located in the Pingshan district, the museum is part of Shenzhen's ambitious plan to expand its cultural infrastructure, often referred to as its 'Ten Cultural Facilities.' The museum is already drawing visitors, including those from Hong Kong, with its impressive collection that features dinosaur fossils, rare meteorites, and other natural wonders.
