SNCB

SNCB, or Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Belges (in French), is the national railway company of Belgium. It is responsible for operating passenger and freight rail services throughout the country. Recently, SNCB has been in the news due to a security incident at Brussels-Midi (South) station, a major transportation hub in the Belgian capital that handles both domestic and international trains, including Eurostar. On March 23, 2026, the station was evacuated and rail traffic was suspended after the discovery of two suspicious packages on a train bound for Antwerp. The SNCB itself reported the interruption of traffic. After police investigations and verifications, which found no threat, traffic gradually resumed.
