Police recently arrested 125 individuals in connection with such activities, which also included operating illegal gambling dens. Furthermore, a separate operation led to 42 arrests in a crackdown on triad infiltration and corruption within the renovation and building maintenance sector, involving projects worth HK$180 million. These developments highlight the ongoing challenges authorities face in combating triad influence in key industries and underscore the persistent threat these groups pose to legitimate businesses and public order in Hong Kong.
