Viavoice

Viavoice is a research organization that conducts public opinion surveys and barometers. They are newsworthy due to the release of their latest barometer on the public's perception of journalism, coinciding with the 19th Assises du journalisme in Tours, France (April 7-11, 2026). This year's theme is "[En]quête de vérité" (In Search of Truth). The Viavoice barometer, released on April 6th, reveals that a significant majority of French citizens (around 90%) consider journalism a useful profession, reaching its highest level since 2022. Furthermore, the study indicates that three out of four French people deem public service media indispensable for the proper functioning of society. RFI is a partner of the Viavoice barometer. This research provides valuable insights into the evolving relationship between the French public and the media landscape.
