Yabloko party

The Yabloko party is a Russian liberal political party known for its opposition to the current government's policies. Recently, a senior member of the party, Lev Shlosberg, was sentenced to over 11 years in prison by a Russian court. The conviction and sentencing stemmed from his opposition to the war in Ukraine. This event highlights the ongoing crackdown on dissent within Russia and brings attention to the Yabloko party's stance on critical national issues. Shlosberg's imprisonment underscores the risks faced by Kremlin critics and opposition figures in contemporary Russia. The Yabloko party, therefore, remains relevant as a voice of liberal opposition, even as its members face severe repercussions for their political activities and public statements.
