Ali Cherri

Ali Cherri is a Lebanese-French artist. He is currently newsworthy for filing a legal complaint with the French war crimes unit in Paris, alleging a potential war crime. The complaint concerns an Israeli bombing in Lebanon that resulted in the deaths of his parents and a domestic worker. Cherri filed the suit alongside the Fédération internationale des droits de l'homme (FIDH) with the 'pôle crimes contre l’humanité' of the Paris court. This legal action is significant because it represents a rare instance of an individual pursuing legal recourse in an international court regarding alleged war crimes related to bombardments in Lebanon.
