Amin Abdullah

Amin Abdullah was a security guard at the Islamic Center of San Diego, the city's largest mosque. He is being hailed as a hero for his actions on May 18, 2026, when he died shielding others from gunfire as two teenage gunmen attempted to storm the mosque. Abdullah was among three people killed in the attack, which police are investigating as a hate crime. His bravery is credited by authorities with preventing the attack from becoming much worse.
