Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a 24-year-old US Air Force Staff Sergeant and member of the West Virginia National Guard, is newsworthy due to being critically wounded in a shooting in Washington D.C. on November 26th. He and fellow guardsman Sarah Beckstrom were patrolling the US capital as part of a deployment initiated by the Trump administration. Beckstrom was killed in the ambush-style attack. Wolfe sustained a head wound and is currently hospitalized in acute care. According to West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey, Wolfe's parents report that he is "slowly healing" and beginning to "look more like himself." The family anticipates he will remain in acute care for the next two to three weeks. The suspect in the shooting, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, reportedly struggled with mental health issues. Former President Trump invited the families of both guardsmen to the White House.
