Anthony Manson

Anthony Manson was one of four men fatally beaten in New York City's Chinatown in 2019. He, along with Chuen Kok, Florencio Moran, and Nazario Vasquez Villegas, were attacked while sleeping on the streets. The perpetrator, Randy Santos, used a metal bar in the assault. Manson's death, along with the others, has recently resurfaced in news reports due to Santos' trial. Santos' lawyers conceded he committed the act but argued an insanity defense, claiming Santos was diagnosed with schizophrenia and heard voices instructing him to kill 40 people. The jury rejected the insanity defense and convicted Santos of first-degree murder. Manson's death is significant as it highlights issues of homelessness and mental health within the city.
