Arundhati Roy

Arundhati Roy is an Indian writer and activist. She is currently newsworthy due to her withdrawal from the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). This decision was prompted by comments made by the jury president, Wim Wenders, who stated that filmmakers should "stay out of politics" when questioned about the conflict in Gaza. Roy expressed being "shocked and disgusted" by these responses, deeming them "unconscionable statements" regarding Israel's actions in Gaza.
