Ary Abittan

Ary Abittan is a French actor and comedian. He gained notoriety in 2021 when he was accused of rape. While an investigation was conducted, the case was ultimately dropped due to a lack of evidence. Abittan is currently newsworthy because Brigitte Macron, the First Lady of France, was filmed using a sexist slur to describe feminist protesters who disrupted Abittan's show. The protesters were wearing masks of Abittan and shouting "Abittan rapist." The incident occurred backstage at the Folies Bergère theatre in Paris, where Macron met Abittan before his performance. This has sparked outrage among French celebrities and politicians, particularly on the left, and has drawn criticism towards Brigitte Macron for her choice of language and apparent support of Abittan.
