Charles Kushner

Charles Kushner is the U.S. Ambassador to France under the Trump administration and the father of Jared Kushner. He is currently at the center of a diplomatic dispute between the U.S. and France. The French government summoned Kushner to explain comments made by the U.S. State Department regarding the death of a far-right activist, Quentin Deranque. The State Department's statement cited "violent radical leftism" as a factor in Deranque's death, which the French government views as a politicization of the event. Kushner has twice failed to attend the summons, sending an embassy official in his place. As a result, the French Foreign Minister has restricted Kushner's access to French government officials, barring him from meetings until he complies with the summons.
