This followed instances of Chinese citizens being detained, fined, or deported for visa irregularities. Second, Chinese citizens were among those executed in China for their involvement in a Myanmar-based telecoms fraud ring. These individuals were core members of a crime syndicate engaged in fraud, drug trafficking, and murder. These events highlight the Chinese government's concern over its citizens' adherence to foreign laws and its efforts to combat transnational crime involving Chinese nationals.
