Cilia Flores

Cilia Flores is the former First Lady of Venezuela and the wife of former President Nicolas Maduro. Both are currently facing drug trafficking charges in the United States. They were reportedly abducted from their Caracas home by US special forces in January 2026 and have been held in a Brooklyn jail since then. A US judge has set a trial date for June 2027. Flores and Maduro have pleaded not guilty to the charges and are challenging the legality of their abduction. Recently, Flores has sought release from US jail while awaiting trial, citing heart problems. She and Maduro are also seeking to have the drug charges dismissed on immunity grounds.
