David Joseph McGuinty is a Canadian politician and lawyer who has served as Minister of National Defence since May 2025. A member of the Liberal Party, he was previously Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness from December 2024 to May 2025, and has served as the member of Parliament (MP) for Ottawa South since 2004.
