Ella Cook

Ella Cook was a Brown University student who was tragically killed in a shooting at Brown University on December 15th. She and Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov were identified as the victims of the shooting. The prime suspect in the murders, Claudio Manuel Neves Valente, a Portuguese national and former brief Brown student, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in a New Hampshire storage facility. The shootings, which also included the murder of an MIT professor, have prompted an investigation into the motive behind the attacks. The US Department of Justice stated that Valente had planned the attacks for years, according to video recordings he left behind. Cook's death, along with the other victims, has brought grief to the Brown and MIT communities and sparked a search for understanding the motivations behind the violence.
