Eyal Yaffe

Marat Ganiev, 55, is a man facing charges in connection with the death of 19-year-old Isla Bell. Bell's remains were discovered in a bag at a Dandenong rubbish tip on November 20, 2024, approximately six weeks after the date police believe she died. Ganiev was initially charged with murder. More recently, prosecutors withdrew a manslaughter charge against him. However, he has failed in a subsequent bid to have the final charge against him relating to Bell's death dismissed. The case remains active, with Ganiev currently facing legal proceedings concerning the death and alleged concealment of Isla Bell's body.
