Ferran Martorell

Ferran Martorell, a prominent figure in Catalan football and advertising, passed away recently at the age of 84. He was well-known as a lifelong supporter ('perico') and key figure in the development of RCD Espanyol. Martorell served as the 22nd president of the club in 1989, holding the position for a brief period between July and December. However, his involvement with Espanyol spanned 17 years, beginning in 1982 as a director and later as vice-president under Antoni Baró during a period of crisis for the club. Beyond his contributions to sports, Martorell was also a successful businessman, having founded the international advertising firm Slogan Publicidad in 1968. His death marks the loss of a significant personality in both the sporting and business communities of Catalonia.
