Ian Huntley

Ian Huntley was a notorious child killer convicted of murdering 10-year-old Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in Soham, Cambridgeshire, in 2002. He was serving a life sentence at HMP Frankland, a maximum-security prison, when he was attacked by a fellow inmate, Anthony Russell. The attack, which reportedly involved a metal pole, left Huntley with severe injuries, including brain trauma. He was hospitalized following the assault on February 26th. News reports confirm that Huntley, aged 52, has since died in hospital from the injuries sustained in the prison attack. The incident highlights the increasing violence faced by high-profile prisoners from inmates serving lengthy sentences, as noted by the Prison Governors’ Association.
