Ilyas Kherbouch

Ilyas Kherbouch, also known as "Ganito," is a former inmate at the Villepinte prison who recently made headlines for his escape. On March 7th, three individuals posing as police officers presented false judicial documents to extract Kherbouch from the prison. He was on the run for thirteen days before being apprehended on March 20th. During his time at large, he was accompanied by a 25-year-old former prison guard with whom he had a relationship. The pair traveled to Belgium and the Netherlands. While Kherbouch described the time as the "ten best days of his life," the woman claims she was forced to accompany him and was subjected to violence and threats. Both Kherbouch and his companion have been taken into custody. The Paris prosecutor, Laure Beccuau, announced that Kherbouch has been charged and placed in provisional detention.
