Jared Moskowitz

Jared Moskowitz, a US lawmaker, is currently in the news for his involvement in a group of eight US lawmakers who have threatened to suspend military training funds to Malaysia. This action is a response to Malaysia's long-standing policy of prohibiting entry to Israeli nationals. Malaysia, a Muslim-majority nation, does not have diplomatic relations with Israel and is a vocal supporter of Palestinian statehood. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia has publicly rejected the US lawmakers' demands, calling them 'totally absurd' and stating that Malaysia will not be intimidated into changing its policy. He asserts that Malaysia's stance does not contravene international laws. Moskowitz's current newsworthiness stems from this international diplomatic pressure exerted by him and his colleagues on Malaysia regarding its stance on Israel.
