Joanna Cuevas Ingram is a journalist who has been reporting on the significant impact of recent US immigration policy changes. Her work highlights the disruption caused by the Trump administration's pause on all immigrant visa applications, a move initiated in early August. This policy shift, aimed at tightening restrictions and limiting access for those potentially reliant on US assistance, has left thousands of applicants in limbo. Many individuals with already scheduled visa interviews received notifications of cancellations, creating uncertainty and distress.
